The fact is that having a plan, as in, a clearly written out plan with all the details and steps you’re going to take, is extremely important to business success. You should plan out everything from where to get business funding, how you’re going to advertise, and what you want to sell

More often than not, the biggest thing that holds people back is themselves. We are always so willing to come up with excuses about how it’s not our fault, so quick to doubt ourselves, and so ready to give up at the drop of a hat. It’s human nature. Believe in yourself, and stop coming up with reasons to make yourself fail. It’s no excuses time!

Test out the plausibility of your business before you plunk down money into it.

If your business is at all plausible and reasonable, you will be able to get customers one way or another. The problem is that many business ideas would be attractive, but just really not possible to pull off given the resources that you may be able to acquire. If the product doesn’t work, if it’s not something people want or need, and if it’s just an overall bad idea, tweak the idea until it’s workable.

They can come in the form of volunteers at government organizations devoted to helping build business, family members who are veteran business owners, or even investors who have decided to put a hand into your business. Always keep in mind what items, funds, and staff you need for your business – not what you want.

In other words, do not overspend when you first start your company. You shouldn’t borrow more money than you need, because that actually can put you and your business into financial jeopardy. Similarly, you shouldn’t bother with an office or a warehouse until you’re making money. Don’t hire staff that you don’t need, either.
